Our Story

Cedar & Sage Cafe grew out of a simple belief: that a cup of coffee is better when you know where the beans came from, and a pastry is best when it's made from scratch that morning. Founded in the heart of Asheville, our cafe was born from a desire to create more than just a coffee stop — we wanted a place where neighbors could slow down, connect, and enjoy the seasonal flavors of Western North Carolina. Every detail, from the single-origin espresso to the sourdough baked fresh daily, reflects that intention. We source our coffee beans from small farms, roast them locally, and serve them through a menu that shifts with the seasons. Our pastries and breads are made in-house using traditional techniques — no mixes, no shortcuts. It's a slower approach, but it tastes better that way. Beyond the food and drink, what sets Cedar & Sage apart is the space itself. Our garden patio offers a quiet escape from Biltmore Avenue, with native plants and enough sunshine to make any afternoon feel unhurried. Inside, the room is designed to welcome everyone — whether you're setting up for a morning of work, catching up with an old friend, or simply sitting by the window with a book.
